[CLOSED] Scrollbar on CalendarList

Postby ScottMartin » Thu Jan 26, 2012 6:15 pm

I would like to have a scrollbar on the Ext.ensible.cal.CalendarList.

The list of calendars is exceeding the visible display and there is no way to see all of the calendars for selection.

I quickly tried to add autoScroll to the panel, but it had no affect.

Regards,
Scott.

Sounds reasonable, I'll look into it when I get a chance.

Re: [OPEN-288] Scrollbar on CalendarList

Brian,

Any chance of this being in the latest repository sometime soon? Sorry for the bother, but it seems to be a major issue with the customer as they have calendars they cannot see at this time.

Regards,
Scott.

Hi Scott,

Actually, there is no bug here. The problem is that the CalendarList panel is autoHeight: true by default, and the west region has no explicit Ext layout, so making the panel autoScroll: true will have no affect unless you also force the panel to have an explicit height (autoHeight means it will simply grow with its contents, even if that means overflowing the containing region, and so it will never get a scrollbar).

Your two choices are to either give the CalendarList a fixed height (e.g., height: 100) or give its containing region a layout that will manage the sizes of its child items (e.g., layout: 'vbox' might be a good choice). It depends on what kind of layout you're going for and if there are any other items around the list that might affect the overall layout requirements.

As an example, I modified the default TestApp example like so and it works just fine:

Code: Select all
   xtype: 'extensible.calendarlist',
   store: this.calendarStore,
   height: 200, // <-- added this
autoScroll: true, // <-- added this
   border: false,
   width: 178
